This Sidmouth ticketing machine took a wallop when a driver accidentally reversed into it.

The pay and display machine and adjacent signs in the Manor Road car park were ‘total write-offs’ after the incident on February 11 - and are now due to be replaced.

A motorist admitted causing the damage to it to East Devon District Council, which owns the site, the following day.

An EDDC spokesman said a claim was being made with its insurers and it will be replaced in good time for the busy summer season.
