One of Devon’s oldest residents said the secret to her long life could be years as a farmer’s wife, as she celebrated her 102nd birthday at a Tipton nursing home.
Selina Turl, known to her friends as Lou, enjoyed a special party with staff, fellow residents and her family at Angela Court this week.
Her family said her longevity has not surprised them, and think her secret could be years of hard work out on the land as a farmer’s wife.
Lou, who has been living in the Tipton St John care home since 2006, had been involved in her parent’s farm before marrying a farmer herself.
