FIRE-fighters rushed to the aid of a stricken Tipton St John cow last Sunday.
Two appliances from Sidmouth were called to a slurry pit in the village after a steer had become stuck after falling into it.
The crews used a cow net, strops and a tractor to free the animal which was then taken to a local vets.
