Proposals to relocate Tipton St John Primary School to Ottery will be the subject of town council discussions this month.
Norfolk Property Services Ltd is seeking to move the school, which has four classes, with approximately 95 pupils, and a pre-school.
Currently, Tipton St John Primary School is located in a high flood risk zone and has been identified by the Environment Agency as a 'risk to life'.
An extraordinary meeting, open to the public, has been arranged by Ottery Town Council to discuss the proposals will take place on October 16 at 7pm.
Councillor Roger Giles, chairman of Ottery Town Council, said his understanding of the proposals would see the new school be built on land west of Cadhay Lane, opposite The King's School.
He said: "There is a long history of Tipton School - the main building is Victorian and not the best.
"The 'Portakabin' across the site is built on a flood plain."
Cllr Giles said a requirement to build a new Tipton school prompted a search for viable sites within Tipton, but none were found and Ottery was earmarked as the next best option.
At the public meeting Norfolk Property Services will outline its proposals for the new school and explain its process.
A second meeting will be held in Tipton St John community hall on Thursday, October 17, between 5pm and 6pm.
