Vandals who targeted Ottery’s last remaining public toilet have been condemmed by the town’s mayor.

The culprits broke the toilet chain and cistern in the Flexton facility and destroyed a light casing, forcing the town council to close the site.

Mayor Glyn Dobson said: “It’s a pity that the last remaining public toilet in the town has been vandalised and we have had to close it.”

Police confirmed the incident happened between the evening of Saturday, February 6, and Sunday, February 7.
