A couple who met on the top of a double-decker bus one Saturday night have just marked 60 years of marriage in Sidmouth
Marie and John King had a party to celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary last weekend at a country house.
The couple retired to Sidmouth together 20 years ago after growing up in Yorkshire, and it was on a bus from York to Leeds they first met.
Their daughter Wendy said a relationship blossomed from there, and John, 85, and Marie, 82, married on January 17, 1953.
After 60 years of marriage the couple, who live in Victoria Road with their dog Daisy, invited their family to Killerton to mark the occasion.
