Firefighters were called in to action yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon to tackle a tractor blaze near Ottery St Mary.
Two crews from Honiton attended the incident at Putts Corner, near the Hare and Hounds pub, shortly after 4pm to find a tractor and trailer carrying a large amount of hay on fire.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Crews requested the attendance of a water carrier due to the amounts of hay alight.
“Steady progress was made throughout the job turning over and damping down the hay using drag forks.”
The tractor, trailer and hay were completely destroyed in the blaze.
