WORK on a creating traffic calming pinch-point with priority user system begins next week at Fortescue, Sidmouth.

Devon County Highways will begin work on Tuesday, July 21, at the northern end of Fortescue.

DCC Councillor Stuart Hughes said the last part of the cycleway scheme was to make safer cycling for Fortescue and address speeding issues, which residents had raised concerns about.

"The work will incorporate installing 'Fortescue' signs to put Fortescue on the map," he said.
