ORGANISERS of an annual Sidford fete, that has boosted local organisations for more than half a century, desperately need to find a volunteer number cruncher.

Members of the Sid Vale Athletics Meeting group have pleaded for a volunteer treasurer to come forward and help them with this year’s May 30 event- which traditionally takes place on the village’s recreational field.

“Unfortunately, our treasurer of the last five years has had to retire due to illness,” said group secretary Marion Jones.

“We’ve got a fete at the end of May and now we have o treasurer. Its only one day’s work- the rest of the year is easy. I need somebody to come forward and say ‘yes, we can do that for you’”.

It is hoped Sidmouth Junior Rugby Club will be among beneficiaries of proceeds from this year’s fete.

Anyone willing to help can contact Marion on (01395) 514244.
