Twinners plan to visit French counterparts

The Ottery St Mary Twinning Association is organising a trip to visit its French counterpart in Normandy.

The group will visit Pont l’Eveque at the end of May, and have been promised a full and varied programme by their French twins.

The party leaves from West Hill on Friday, May 27 to catch the ferry from Poole, arriving in Pont l’Évêque by early evening, giving the visitors a full weekend to take a boat trip on the Seine from Honfleur amongst other plans.

They will also be accompanied by a group of folk musicians and dancers who will perform for the French hosts in the town square before catching the ferry at Ouistreham for the journey home on Monday.

The Twinning association still have some places left but the closing date to join them is April 15. The trip costs £130, with children under 16, £65. Contact treasurer Hugh Sutherland on 01395.514618 for more information.
