Two men arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft after crash near Sidmouth

Police say the pair are awaiting questioning

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft following a car crash near Sidmouth this morning (Friday).

The arrests were made after officers attended the scene of an accident, which saw a vehicle overturn, on Four Elms Hill, Newton Poppleford.

Fire and ambulance crews were also called to the incident. The two casualties suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (RD&E).

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said a 23-year-old Sidmouth man and a 26-year-old from Exeter were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and are now in police custody awaiting questioning.
