A 66-year-old Honiton man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was found near Ottery St Mary.
Charles Robert Broom will appear before Exeter Magistrates Court today (Friday).
Police were called to the area of Fenny Bridges at around 4pm on Wednesday where they found the body in a vehicle.
The victim is due to be formally identified later today, but police believe her to be a 71-year-old local woman.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall said officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
