A Valentine’s Day raffle organised by a Sid Valley luxury gift shop has raised £420 for Children’s Hospice South West.

More than £500 in prizes were up for grabs in the draw at Temptation - with the winners officially drawn by Olympian Mary King on Friday (February 12).

Sarah Tye, owner of the shop at Sidmouth’s Wyevale garden centre, said: “It has only been a success thanks to the generosity of our customers. It was amazing that we did this so soon after Christmas and still got such a good response.”

She also thanked Mary King for attending to draw the winning tickets. The total from the raffle brings the amount raised by Temptation for the children’s charity to some £4,500 over the past two years. Easter egg chicks, priced £1, will soon be on sale at the shop, with proceeds going to the hospice.
