A van was severely damaged after a van set alight in an Ottery St Mary lay-by.
Emergency services were called to the Daisy Mount Roundabout, off the Exeter Road, just after 5.50pm yesterday (Thursday).
When crews, from Honiton, arrived they found a small van well alight.
They used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to put the fire out and spent around an hour on the scene.
The cause is believed to have been accidental.
The Envirament Agency were also called after chemicals ran off the road into nearby drainage.
