Internationally acclaimed young violinist to perform in Sidmouth

The next concert in the Sidmouth Music series is on Saturday, December 1 in the Parish Church and features Emily Sun, Australia’s recently-named 2018 Young Performer of the Year.

Emily is rapidly gaining international recognition as a solo violinist, winning several similar awards. She has been a concert performer since the age of 10, and soloist with major Australian orchestras. Now an honours graduate from the Royal College of Music in London, she has been mentored by illustrious instrumentalists Pinchas Zukerman and Maxim Vengerov. Increasingly Emily is now establishing her name in the USA, China, Russia and across Europe.

For her programme in Sidmouth she will be accompanied at the piano by established partner Jennifer Hughes. They will be playing sonatas for violin from Schubert, Grieg and Fauré as well as Tchaikovsky’s Valse-Scherzo, opus 34. The concert starts at 3pm and runs until 5.30pm.
