A PROJECT aimed at giving extra one-to-one attention to rescued donkeys is being launched by Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary.
Readers of the Sidmouth Herald are being invited to help with the new pilot volunteer programme which will complement the expert care already provided by the charity's staff.
Dawn Vincent, spokeswoman for the sanctuary, said: "Volunteers can expect to interact with the donkeys, monitor their behaviour and lead selected donkeys out for walks.
"In return, we would welcome participants' feedback to establish if this project could be expanded to provide voluntary help at each of our eight UK farms in Devon, Dorset and Derbyshire.
"We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible people with their own transport. Suitable applicants will receive training by our experienced trainers."
Anyone interested should contact Sue Cockayne on (01395) 578222 or email: enquiries@thedonkeysanctuary.com.
