CHEERS to Waitrose from this happy group of charity fundraisers who have shared in the £20,000 given out by the Sidmouth store through its Community Matters scheme.

Green tokens are used by customers to vote for three charities a month to share in a £1,000 payout.

On Tuesday they enjoyed a celebratory evening to mark the £20,000 stage and deputy manager Alex Hill thanked Margaret Edwards-Hughes, the store’s Community Matters co-ordinator, for managing the project.

“We couldn’t have done it without your collaboration, and this is to thank you,” said Alex, who said the store, which used to give £2,000 a year to charity, now donated £12,000.
