Sidmouth Waitrose celebrate 20,000 charity giveaway through Community Matters
CHEERS to Waitrose from this happy group of charity fundraisers who have shared in the 20,000 given out by the Sidmouth store through its Community Matters scheme.
Green tokens are used by customers to vote for three charities a month to share in a 1,000 payout.
On Tuesday they enjoyed a celebratory evening to mark the 20,000 stage and deputy manager Alex Hill thanked Margaret Edwards-Hughes, the store’s Community Matters co-ordinator, for managing the project.
“We couldn’t have done it without your collaboration, and this is to thank you,” said Alex, who said the store, which used to give 2,000 a year to charity, now donated 12,000.
