THIEVES who made off with 88 pints worth of beer in Ottery St Mary last week have been warned by police they could face serious injury in trying to drink it.

Police are appealing for information after a barrel of Fosters beer was taken from a delivery lorry in the Canaan Way car park on July 30 between 1.30pm and 1.45 pm.

Police say that any efforts to open the highly pressurised barrel without the correct equipment would be dangerous and have expressed concern over the safety of any body attempting to do so.
