Hurricane Gonzalo is causing a stir in Sidmouth but the town has so far been spared the 70mph winds that battered much of the country.
Remnants of the storm have blown in from the Atlantic, resulting in three deaths, delayed flights and the Met Office extending its severe weather warning to whole of the UK until this evening.
Gusts of 60 to 70mph have been forecast, while fallen leaves and heavy showers risk flooding on roads.
These pictures were taken today by photographer Ian Williams.
