SIDMOUTH and Ottery residents have been encouraged to “break down barriers” through a new bureaucracy-busting website.
East Devon District Council (EDDC) this week encouraged communities to make use of a new scheme which hopes to give householders a forum to express ideas about making their neighbourhoods a better place to live in the face of national rules and regulations red-tape.
Called Barrier Busting, Department for Communities and Local Government run site is designed to help residents get things done for their community by sidestepping obstacles that only central government can remove.
“If you have done everything you reasonably can to resolve the issue at a local level, by talking to your neighbours, other community groups and to your local Councillors, but you still need help to get things done, you can fill in a simple form on the website at: http://barrierbusting.communities.gov.uk/,” said an EDDC spokesperson.
“The team will investigate your concerns and do what they can to get rid of the barriers in your way.”
