WAR TALES: A West Country filmmaker has appealed for Sidmouth residents with memories of World War Two to contact him. Henry Buckton hopes to hear tales from those who lived through the war, especially when Devon was the most militarised county in the country. “This was particularly so just before D-Day when every town and village was bursting with American troops preparing to take part in the liberation of occupied Europe,” he said. Henry urged anyone with memories, photographs or other information, willing to be interviewed in the film, to write to him at PO Box 2770, Glastonbury, Somerset BA6 9XD, or email henrybuckton@henrybuckton.co.uk.
