A MOTORIST, spotted using a mobile phone while driving near West Hill Primary School, was caught out by an undercover police operation last week.
The driver received a 60 fine and had her licence endorsed with three penalty points as members of Ottery's neighbourhood policing team continue to clamp down on the offence.
Police have acted after receiving complaints that drivers are illegally using their phones and not paying enough attention to the road in areas used by scores of schoolchildren.
PCSO Maria Clapp said the operation will continue at different spots throughout the area.
