A West Hill poet has been awarded first prize in a competition at Sidmouth Literary Festival.
Janet Beardsall’s received her prize from poet and playwright Alyson Hallett after impressing judges with her poem In memory of a Surfer.
The poem is taken from Janet’s third book of poetry, What’s Not to Love? which has already raised £2,000 for Hospiscare.
The collection is available at The Curious Otter Bookshop and Otter Nurseries in Ottery and Paragon Books, Flo&Us, and The Lantern Shop in Sidmouth.
