CHILDREN at West Hill Primary School marked the start of the new term by unveiling a pupil-made mural.
The mural, which celebrates the different seasons, walking to school and pupils favourite nursery rhymes and story books, was put together by last year's fourth and sixth form students with the help of teacher Sue Bedford.
School governor David Millar varnished the artwork and added finishing touches over the holidays meaning it could be unveiled to the returning children.
Headteacher Sue Nield said: "It was pouring with rain and we were all under brollies but we all enjoyed it. It hasn't stopped raining since but the mural looks great and will last a long time, we hope to do another one this year."
Phil Creek, county advisor for art and design and Margaret Postma, customer services manager for B&Q, who donated materials for the project, were also present.
