A card tournament at a Sidford pub raised more than £200 for the RNLI after the winners donated their takings to the pot.

The Rising Sun held its annual Mike Channing Memorial euchre games, organised by Mike’s son-in-law and grandson, Louis and Adam Squance.

The winners
were Lee Shuff and Dave Morgan, while landlady Lisa Downham and husband Andy laid out an excellent buffet. There was a generous donation from Gerald Carnell that took to the total to £220.

The cheque was presented to Nigel and Beryl Ruddle from the Sidmouth branch of the RNLI.
