A Sidmouth care home has launched a brand-new support and social group called ‘Wives’ Time’.
Registered manager Agnieszka Orlowska, of Maldon house, said it all began when she noticed a group of ladies who had sat together at one of their events and spoke about how lovely it was to talk to someone in a similar position.
The first 90-minute Wives’ Time took place in October and gave wives and family carers Jackie, Janice, Mary and Alma the chance to meet and enjoy companionship and comfort while their male relatives and husbands received care at Malden House.
Agnieszka added: “Wives Time was organised as an excuse for the ladies to get out of the house, have a chat, laugh and even be sad. “Wives’ Time is an inclusive group to involve the ladies so they don’t feel lonely to excluded - they can feel part of something.”
