KIDS had a wizard time at Sidmouth Library on Wednesday when they got out of the rain and joined the second of its school holiday craft sessions.
Aimed at children aged five and over, librarian Meriel Santer organised some magical craft ideas to make wizards and fairies.
The library is involved in the 2009 Summer Reading Challenge - Quest Seekers, based on the theme of fantasy.
Mrs Santer said: "We are trying to encourage children to read during the school holidays."
Children are being challenged to read six books during the summer as a Quest Seeker and receive a special membership card, fold-out poster and stickers, which can be collected on each visit to the library.
There are three stages to complete: Firebird Rising, Mountain Mission and Dragon's Lair and two books will be ticked off at each visit.
Children will then be invited to take part in a family quiz to win a Quest Seekers bag and baseball cap. Closing date for this is Saturday, September 5.
See: www.devon.gov.uk/libraries for more information on the reading challenge.
