THE future of Woolbrook Post Office is secure, according to its new owners.

Bob and Dorian Cummins, took over the Woolbrook Road premises last month and have "big plans" for the outlet.

New sub-postmistress Dorian and husband Bob said they have already found out how important the post office is to residents.

"People that have come in have said the post office is vital to them," said Bob.

"It's a community asset and it is definitely our intention to keep it up and running. So far we have been encouraged by what people have said and have already invested a lot of money in the post office."

The Herald reported in February how upset Woolbrook residents were "praying"

they didn't lose the valued community facility as its future hang in the balance when a former owner was declared bankrupt.
