A HARCOMBE woman is hoping to raise money for The Donkey Sanctuary by running the Silverstone's Half Marathon on Sunday.
Tracy Judge, a farm worker groom at the Sanctuary, took up the placement as part of her training for the Flora London Marathon.
She is now training hard in the final days before the 13 mile race.
Tracy said: "I'm hoping by running this marathon I will raise awareness of the Sanctuary's work overseas. I helped set up the charity's Italian project and saw for myself the benefits that the donkeys receive.
"The Italian branch of the Sanctuary now has over 100 donkeys in its care, many of which have been saved from meat markets or have been abandoned in other parts of Europe."
The funds raised by Tracy will be put towards the charity's new Sanctuary from Suffering campaign, which launched at the end of February.
The campaign aims to improve people's awareness of the sanctuary's work in developing countries and help ease the suffering of working donkeys.
