PARKING PROBE: Residents’ views are to be sought on whether parking spaces should become specifically for the use of council tenants in Arcot Park, Sidmouth.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) Housing Review Board members have recommended officers consult tenants about allocating and enforcing parking spaces for their use only - with a cost for the necessary permits.

In the 2011/12 financial year, a budget of 50,000 was set aside to resolve parking issues. A report reveals 15,000 has already been committed to address a problem at Furzehill in Sidbury.

A parking places order in Arcot Park would cost 8,000. Improvements might take three years to complete depending on funding availability each year.
