Ottery is set to be filled with more trees, wildflowers and plants as part of a new community orchard.
Greener Ottery is working with East Devon District Council's Streetscene team to develop a final design to include seasonal plants, shrubs and trees to bloom throughout the year.
Councillor Dean Stewart, from the group, said the enhanced green space at Land of Canaan would be a step towards bringing more pollinating insects to the town.
Cllr Stewart said: "This is the first step in the war on 'insectageddon'.
"We are also planning to work with Ottery In Bloom to use this as a launch pad for improving the plants and flowers through the town.
"And as with everything we will be doing in this field, it is Greener Ottery working with the full support and co-operation of Ottery Town Council."
