YOUNG actors from Sidbury got to rub shoulders with the stars during a recent theatre visit.
A group of 50 Sidbury Into Drama members and friends visited the Theatre Royal in Plymouth on Tuesday, August 10, to see the musical Hairspray starring Les Dennis and Brian Conley.
As part of the trip they got to go backstage after the show and meet the actors.
Group chairman Sue Gooding said: “One of our party, Jane Jarrell arranged the tour for us, through a family friend who knows the theatre’s stage manager. It was fascinating and gave us all a real insight as to how complex and expensive it is to stage a show of this calibre.
“The best surprise of the evening was when Les and Brian gave up their time to come and talk to us all, which we didn’t expect!”
