This eel didn’t put up a struggle at Sidmouth on Sunday
These lads didn’t actually catch this conger eel off Sidmouth beach on Sunday early evening, as it was already dead, but they brought it into shore using their line, at around 6pm, much to the amusement of bystanders!
Sidmouth fisherman Neil Bagwell said conger eels were “fairly common” at this time of year and quite a few could grow quite large.
“I don’t know why it was dead. Maybe it just died, or it might be that someone lost it off an angling boat,” he added.
