Fore Street was closed off to cars while Devon County Council carried out work to replace uneven pavement slabs last week.

As a result, the Herald asked people if they think Fore Street should be permanently pedestrianised.

Mark Bolton, 43, a banker, of East Street, said: "I would like the road to stay as it is-with cars being allowed to drive down."
