An ‘all or nothing’ campaign to fund the opening of a new zero-waste shop in Ottery has launched.
Alice Bardwell and Dan Prince, of Fillfull, need £20,000 to make their dream of opening the plastic-free shop and community hub a reality –and have a month to reach the total.
They launched their online campaign at their Mill Street premises last night (Thursday).
Alice said: “If we achieve the full amount we will get the funding, if we fall short we won’t.
“We have given it everything, all of our savings have gone in to getting the shop to where it is today over the past two months.
“We feel that the crowdfunder will get the community supporting and moving towards helping themselves to take small steps to becoming plastic free.
“It can often be overwhleming with busy lives and minimal choices for where to shop plastic free. We hope to help time and convenience for everyone.”
The hub will become a place for people to meet and learn how to create everyday plastic-free items.
