Only two teams at Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club, of the seven that were playing, claimed any points at the weekend.
The women’s first-team travelled to Taunton Civil Service 1 and came away with a good win, with a three-goal winning margin, 2-5. Unfortunately, the rest of the women’s teams were all defeated.
The second team were away at Exeter and Culm Vale Hornets and lost 3-2, while both the third and fourth teams lost 0-5 in home fixtures. The third team were playing Exe 4 and the fourth team entertained Isca-Exeter University 7.
On the men’s side of the club, it was only the second team that claimed a victory when they travelled to take on West Dorset 2 and won 0-1.
The first team had a home fixture against Taunton Vale 2 and came out second best, losing 1-5. The third team travelled to top-of-the-table North Devon 2 but returned home without any points, losing 5-1.
