A goal in the last few minutes denied the Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club men’s fourth team a share of the points in a game played against Ashmoor.
The match was a competitive but frustrating affair for the SOHC team, with the side applying good pressure throughout much of the game, without being able convert that into goals.
With no other men’s teams playing, there was no problem with fielding a full side with two substitutes. Much of the game was played in good spirits, although there was the occasional heated moment.
As it drew to a close, Ashmoor were awarded a penalty flick, which they converted for the only goal of the match, to grab all the points, and a disappointing outcome after some good play through much of the match.
On the women’s side, the fourth team played in a rearranged league game, away against Exe 5, and came away with a 1-1 draw.
