It is ten months since the popular Parkrun first closed all global events in response to the Covid crisis.
The latest lockdown naturally means the postponement of the Parkrun plans to gradually restart some junior events and then move on to the full Parkrun.
Like all sport events, however, Parkrun organisers are hopeful that the vaccination roll-out will enable a full return in the spring.
The simple concept of Parkrun events is to host free community opportunities for people to get out and run together in locations across the globe.
While the current situation remains understandably uncertain for local runners, hope comes from Parkrun sites on the other side of the world.
The majority of Parkrun events in the Asia Pacific region are open and providing organisers with a clear plan of action that can eventually be applied to the UK, mainland Europe, USA and Canada.
