Sidmouth Under-8s came across a well-drilled Bridport outfit and a sizeable team from Weymouth when they travelled to the former for a series of matches.
The Chiefs fielded two sides of 10 players and there were lots of quick games with some great defence and good running rugby on show throughout.
Under-8 coach Joe Wall said: “It was, in general, pleasing, but there were a few too many dropped balls that allowed the opposition to break through and score – hopefully the boys will remember the importance of good passes and good hands for their game this weekend against Exeter Chiefs.”
Wall continued: “The action concluded with a mass ‘tag-bulldog’ match with all 55 youngsters taking on coaches until they lost both tags – a fair bit of mayhem that ended with Noah Clifton being last man standing, which, added to his impressive tagging and passing in the games, made him player of the week – well done Noah!”
The club continue to welcome new players to the Under-8s section and details of who to contact can be found at the website www.sidmouthrfc.co.uk
