The ninth round of the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday night league was won by Mark Thomas with an excellent score of 43 points, writes John Barnard.
He made five birdies, and overall, was one under gross against par. Mark usually flourishes in the later season so it will be interesting to see if his form continues.
In second place was senior John White who played a consistent round for his 39 points and achieved a two shot reduction to his handicap.
Third was Lewis Perry, warming up for Sunday’s Palairet match. He had an inconsistent round of his handicap of three with five birdies, but a no score and a number of bogies, but still saw his handicap reduced totwo.
Mark has now raced into the lead in the Friday night league with 45 points, leading by eight from Lee Wenham and ten from Craig Melluish in third place.
