Sidmouth Warriors 1, Exmouth United 0 Sidmouth Warriors Under-9s were good value for a clean sheet single goal success sin an entertaining East Devon derby, writes Chris Roberts.

Both sides made bright starts ands the game ebbed and flowed with action in both penalty areas. Warriors, with some great midfield, play started to get the better of things and Ben Fisher went close a number of times, but half-time arrived with the game still seeking its first goal.

After the break United made a slick start and would have taken the lead except for a timely block from Lucy Spiller. Warriors, showing great commitment in all areas began to create chances again and their endeavours were finally rewarded when Charlie Roberts crossed from the left for Ewan Badcock to cleverly lift the ball over the on-rushing Exmouth keeper. Exmouth hit back, but the Warriors defence was equal to the best they could offer up and the final whistle blew leaving Warriors the winners. Both sides deserve much credit for the way they approached a smashing game of football.
