Sidmouth Under-9s continued their fine start to the season with a pair of matches against visitors Cullompton, writes Rob Bolton.
With a very strong first half of the season with a two hard games against visiting team The Mid Devon side were short on numbers compared to the ever expanding squad that turn out on a weekly basis for Sidmouth.
However, Cullompton held there own for two solid games that saw hard tackling and well-timed supporting play from both squads.
Sidmouth had the final upper hand winning both games by a small margin, primarily due to strength in numbers and ‘fresh’ feet on the field for the second game.
Squad development is progressing at a pace, the ‘New Rules of Play’ introduced by the RFU at the beginning of last season certainly seem to be having the desired effect on player development and enjoyment of the game.
