Ottery St Mary play their final away game of the 2013 Francis Clark Devon League C Division season when they travel to Plymouth Civil Service and Roborough tomorrow (Saturday).

Only one of the section’s five game saw action – the one at Bideford where Yelverton were the visitors – and that was abandoned. So with the exception of champions Bideford (7) and basement dwellers Yelverton (8), all teams in the division picked up six points.

Ottery sit fifth on 179 points with two to play and a maximum of 44 points available.

They are 68 off the promotion pace and 26 clear of the drop zone.

With the bottom side at home to complete the season next week, banking the 18 points from their last two they need to ensure they start next summer in the same section should not be beyond them.

Ottery St Mary II are in action at home to fifth placed Plymouth Civil, Service and Roborough and, with the only two sides to sit above them in the 2nd XI B Division, Budleigh and Sidmouth III meeting, have a great chance to cement their place in the top two.

Budleigh currently top the table with 259 points, Ottery have 248, Sidmouth III are on 240 and the outsiders for promotion, Alphington II, who the Otters visit on the last day (August 31)

on the final day of the season, are currently fourth with 221 points.

Sidmouth II are also in action for the penultimate time this league season tomorrow when they host Bovey Tracey II.

With last weekend’s washout it means the chances of the Fortfield seconds catching leaders Exeter (holding an 11 point lead with just two to play) look slim.

Tomorrow Exeter entertain third bottom Chudleigh II and a week later wrap things up with a visit to fourth placed Plymouth II.

Foe Sidmouth, next Saturday brings the curtain down on their league season with a visit to third bottom Chudleigh.
