Sidmouth suffered a big blow to their hopes of retaining the Francis Clark Devon League title when they lost by three wickets in the final over of a thrilling contest at Exmouth.
Batting first there were useful contributions from Pete Randerson (49), Luke Bess (43) and opener Mat Cooke (44) in a Sidmouth total of 237-8 from 50 overs.
Exmouth got home in the final over with three wickets and five balls to play with on 241-7.
