Sidmouth girls Under-13 took on Topsham St James at Bicton on a cold and blustery day.
In conditions that made batting and bowling difficult it was Sidmouth who emerged victorious.
For many of the girls this was a first experience of the hard ball game.
Sidmouth fielded first, and there was some great bowling from all the girls as they claimed six wickets with Topsham closing on 119-6 from 30 overs.
Fortunately the rain held off for long enough to enable Sidmouth to bat through with a score of 138-8 to seal victory.
Thanks to James Morrison for managing the team, and John Hansford for umpiring.
Sidmouth team: Libby Morrison (captain) Cassia Astley- Jones, Emma Seward, Lily Goodier, Caitlin Perry, Hannah Vicary, Bryony Monaghan, Robyn Hansford, Hannah Rudgard, Daisy Essex, Phoebe Broadhurst, Lucy Gosling, Katie Underwood.
