Exmouth U13 27, Sidmouth U13 7
Exmouth started brightly and quickly had the advantage on a Sidmouth side that was a yard or two off the pace and were duly penalised, particularly in the breakdown, writes Chris Woodruff.
Two early tries from Exmouth and a conversion opened a 12-0 lead. Sidmouth rallied and came close to scoring in the latter stages of the first half.
The second half saw a stronger start from Sidmouth yet Exmouth continued to win the ball in the rucks and mauls; advantage was quickly restored as they stretched their lead to 17. The last quarter saw Hubble make some critical tackles as Sidmouth played their best rugby, rewarded with a Mead try and Harris conversion. Exmouth sensed the danger and quickly stamped their authority back on the game with a penalty kick, sealing the game with an interception try to finish 27-7.
