A score of 55 was registered by three batsmen in the East Devon Indoor Cricket League’s first round of games in the new year.
Anthony Griffiths set the tone as Sidmouth made 137-5 against Honiton who replied with 104 all out, Rob Ingram matching Griffiths’ score. Helping Griffiths in Sidmouth’s innings was Fionn Wardrop with an unbeaten 36.
Ian Sutton hit 55 not out for league leaders Clyst Hydon as they made 137-5 against Exmouth.
Next best was 19 from Lewis Bowen. Exmouth’s reply of 83-5 was dominated by Julian Page who made 42 not out.
Alex Raistrick top scored for Newton Poppleford with 18 in a total of 61-5 against Newton St Cyres.
It was never enough, with Peter Dennem making 25 at opener and Newton St Cyres lost one wicket completing victory.
