Sidmouth CC completed a gruelling season in the Premier Division of the Tolchards Devon Cricket League with a rain-affected eight-wicket victory over relegated Plymouth.

Jerome Bossr struck a fine 120 for Plymouth, while Taylor Ingham-Hill took five wickets for Sidmouth, as the hosts posted a score of 230/8. Issac Thomas (57), Luke Bess (39 no) and Matt Cooke (27) all played nicely in the Sidmouth reply when the weather reduced the target for a comfortable win.

Sidmouth end the season seventh in the table and, after a tough spell, finished strongly to secure their Premier status.

Ottery St Mary finished fourth in C Division East but fell the other side of the rain on the final day. Jonathan Triner struck a brilliant unbeaten 116 for the Otters, along with Neil Davey 53 and Matthew Jeacock (42 no).

Alphington and Countess Wear replied with equal efficiency and won by seven wickets with the reduced target.
