Last-gasp win for Exeter Chiefs

The two sides exchanged penalties in the early stages before the Chiefs broke the Leicester defence with a clever chip in behind from Harvey Skinner and when the retreating Tigers punched the ball into touch, a penalty try was awarded. 

The kicking game became the dominant factor until one final moment of quality before half-time, Exeter calmly recycling the ball for Tongan international Solomone Kata to dot down a deserved score. 

Leicester regrouped at the interval and came out firing like champions, overturning the 17 – 6 deficit with two tries before the hour. The Chiefs were now chasing the game and a brave call to go for a try in the final minute was rewarded when Patrick Schickerling forced himself over the line for a match-winning score.
